About

Gravel Worlds has grown from a grassroots Lincoln, Nebraska event into one of the sport's bigger non-Life-Time races. The self-mocking 'World Championship' branding — Captain of the Gravel Seas, a sword trophy, an actual pirate motif — is a deliberate counterpoint to the structure of a typical world championship, and it's stuck because the racing itself is legitimately hard: rolling Nebraska farmland with little shelter from wind, run in late-summer heat. But make no mistake — this isn't the actual world championship of gravel.

The event has expanded well beyond a single gravel race into a full weekend — with a running event and a large expo — but the 150-mile Lauf Gravel Worlds remains the anchor, and its strong amateur field alongside a competitive elite race (and accompanying prize purse) is central to how the event presents itself.

Course Info
  • 150 mi (marquee), 75 mi (GW75), 50K entry route, and the 300-mile Long Voyage ultra
  • Also now includes a run series (50K, half marathon, 10K, 5K)

The 150-mile route is the flagship distance, run on rolling farm roads and windswept terrain around Lincoln; the 75-mile GW75 and a 50K entry option broaden access, and the self-supported 300-mile Long Voyage exists for riders who find 150 miles insufficient.

Registration Info

Direct (non-lottery) registration through gravelworlds.com; the event has historically sold out but does not use a randomized entry system the way Unbound or SBT GRVL do.
